ActivPC was represented by Turner Bell at the Ohio CCDC (Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition) held on March 3, in which the 5 member Cuyahoga Community College team pulled off a stunning upset of the 7-time defending champions Baldwin Wallace. Despite being undermanned, the Tri-C team did their best to keep required services up and fulfill inject requests. They also submitted incident reports after finding malware on their machines. The students ran a simulated network using virtualization software, protecting themselves from attacks by numerous red-team volunteers over the course of 5 hours. They will travel to Chicago to compete in the regional competition on March 23rd and 24th.
